Photo Series: The Columns of Park Güell
Gaudi’s Park Güell (Park Guell) is an architectural masterpiece perched atop Barcelona’s Gracia district. The Park is unlike any other in terms of its design and aesthetic appeal. Park Güell, a cross between a Mediterranean Hansel and Gretal setting meets Roman and Arabesque influence, can keep you visually occupied for some time. Some of Park Guell’s most impressive aspects are the amazing columns that support the winding paths and expansive upper level of the park. Ni Hao, Alex here! This week’s #FriFotos’ theme is White, so I thought this was a perfect opportunity to share a photo from China along with providing a taste of things to come. After a whirlwind two weeks in China sans Google, Facebook, or Twitter, I’m back. The trip to the far east was outstanding – China blew away my expectations as a destination – each locale I visited offered a unique window into Chinese history, attractions, and culture. This week’s #FriFotos theme is Close Up, and the devil is in the details. Well, sort of. But the details do really pop up when close. This was a perfect opportunity to highlight some photography of strange fruit and textures up close from around the globe. I now have hundreds of photos of fruit up close. In Sayulita, Mexico I visited local craftsmen and got a chance to photograph their work up close. Who doesn’t like a good mexican Dia De Los Muertos figurine? In Bangkok, Thailand the draw was the markets and the strange fruit. And in Tokyo, Japan Tsukiji Fish Market proved to be...
