The largest city and capital of Zimbabwe, once Africa’s breadbasket. In August 2010, I traveled to southern Africa for a cost-of-living study. Over a five week stretch, I went to Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Angola. Harare was one of my more interesting locations. The last time my company sent a surveyor to capture data was in 2008. Supermarket shelves were empty. The economy was in shambles.
