Vlog: Alex in the Devil’s Throat (Cataratas del Iguazú)

In this clip, I visit the center of the Garganta del Diablo, or Devil’s Throat – the most violent section of the Iguazu Falls on the Argentinian side. It’s an amazing and terrifying experience. You’re separated from the water by a see-through catwalk. One slip, and it’s over. Watching the falls pour all around you while mist billows out from the crashing water is almost transcendental. On clearer, drier days, the Devil’s Throat is filled with birds of pray and rainbows. It’s also typical to get absolutely drenched where I’m standing in this clip. Luckily, the wind was blowing in the opposite direction – making for an amazing (but freezing) filming experience.

You can bet there is a substantial Minute Tour in the works from my experience in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Stay tuned.
